iPad Paintings
Like many digital artists using an iPad I was inspired originally by the iPad paintings in David Hockney's exhibition in 2012. IPads lend themselves to a wide variety of painting uses, from drawing in situ to creating abstracts, from simulating oil paintings to playing with distinctively computerised mark-making. Indeed, the way iPad images are created lends itself to delightfully free, expressive drawing and mark-making. Whereas my other digital art has made use of existing hand-drawn or painted images, these are entirely computer-made, making them more truly forms of digital art.
With the right programme digital artists can transform their work on screen into large Giclee prints, but of course, as with all digital art, they can only be seen on screen or in print. Signed, limited-edition prints are available in a range of sizes.
